“Why I Started Refresh and Impress: Helping Homeowners Sell Smarter”

Recently I’ve been asked several times ‘why I started my business?’

It all started when we were looking at small properties up in Liverpool to invest in.

One particular property that I remember visiting was owned by a lovely elderly lady selling move into a retirement home, it was her pride and joy. During the viewing she talked me through her life and her wishes for the future.

Straight after the viewing as you can imagine the Estate Agent was chasing me for an offer. With, my then investor hat on, I knew it was all about the numbers and for the numbers to work my offer would be low. I just couldn’t do that, she needed every penny that she could, much to the Estate agents disgust.

Following on from that visit it I started scrolling through Rightmove looking at properties that had been stuck on the market, many being reduced by 10’s of thousands of pounds. One by over £300,000,  £50,000 reductions at a time. In not all but many the photos were poor, the staging non-existent, and the listings lacked soul or strategy. It wasn’t just about advertising — it was about truly marketing these homes. I kept thinking, why hadn’t anyone helped these sellers? Why hadn’t someone shown them how to prepare their home, choose the right agent, or take control of what is likely to be their biggest financial asset?

And that’s when Refresh and Impress was born — with the mission to take the mystery out of selling your home and help people present it with confidence and care, so they can achieve the price they truly deserve.
