Stop Wasting Money

Fix Your Windows Before You Sell, And You Might Save Thousands and Cost Less Than You Think!

When we bought our home, one of the first things we noticed were the windows. They were blown, poorly fitted, and instantly made the house look tired. As buyers, we immediately factored that in and negotiated £10,000 off the asking price to cover the cost of replacing them.

Fast forward to today: we finally got round to sorting them. The quote for brand-new windows was £9,000, but in the end, it cost us just over £1000 to have them repaired instead. Three hours’ work …and the difference is unbelievable. (Thanks to local firm – We Fix Windows (and Doors))

Here’s what we gained:

  • A much warmer and more energy-efficient home
  • Clear windows that let in more light (and more sunshine warmth!)
  • Improved security
  • Better kerb appeal
  • And even more exciting I can close all the windows on my own now without someone having to go outside and push them up!

The lesson? Buyers will notice windows. Some might walk away, thinking it’s a huge job. Others, like us, will negotiate a hefty reduction but for sellers, the fix is often far simpler and much cheaper than you think.

If you’re preparing your home for sale, don’t overlook your windows. For a fraction of the price of replacement, you can refresh them, improve how your home feels, and make that all-important first impression.

After all, why lose £10,000 on your sale, when £1,000 could put things right?
